Skirting the Issue

So last week my husband and I had a lunch date at the mall because we needed to stop by Nordstrom for him to get some new work socks.  After we were done browsing the store, we took the escalator down to the first floor.  Without my realizing it until it was too late, my long black maxi skirt got caught in the last stair of the escalator.

All I could think of was that at least my husband was with me because surely he would give me the shirt off his back as a cover up in case the moving stairs took my entire skirt with it.  I was clutching the waistband of my skirt for dear life and could feel it ripping at the bottom.  This went on for what seemed like an hour but surely it was only a few minutes at the most.  They were able to stop the escalator and my husband yanked my skirt out (leaving a huge tear) and within minutes a customer service representative for Nordstrom was sincerely apologizing for what had happened (even though it was clearly my fault!) and insisted on buying me a new replacement skirt on the spot.

Just another reason to love Nordstrom.  If you ever find yourself in the same situation, surely they will be as kind and generous to you as they were to me.  Although I highly doubt that it will happen to you as these sort of things seem to only happen to me. ;)
